Staffing Update For Term 4
Madame Morgan-Hood our LOTE French Teacher has been transferred to Bray Park State School for 2022. Thank you Mrs Morgan-Hood for all the amazing work you have done with our students over the last 14 ½ years. French is not just a subject for you, but a way of life. You have been able to share your love of everything French with students and not only learn a language, but teach students to value other cultures other than their own. You will be missed. Bray Park is very fortunate to be getting you as a teacher.

Teachers are completing the Semester 2 Academic Reports this week. Reports will be emailed to parents on Monday 6th December. The presentation will be on our final parade on Thursday 9th December.

We are in need of decorations for our Haunted House stall. We are looking for anything scary eg: skeletons, spiders webs, spiders, snakes etc.
Do you have leftover jars?
Our Jam stall needs an assortment of jars to start planning some amazing jams and chutneys.
All donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off to the office.

Resource Centre News
As we draw to the end of the year, it has come time when we are requesting that all library books are returned so that we can complete a stocktake.
We have an incentive running that the first class to return all of their books will receive a prize! Currently all classes are still in the running.
This Friday we will be printing off a list of students and the book titles that are overdue and sending home a note requesting families to have another look or provide payment if the book is lost. Any fees for lost books are to be paid directly to administration.
Many thanks and Happy Reading,
Your friendly Library Crew
Music News
2022 Instrumental Recruitment
Recruitment into the 2022 Instrumental Program is almost complete. If your child was successful, he/she may already know or will receive a letter this week. Please ensure all paperwork is returned promptly so teachers can plan for 2022.
All students in the Instrumental Program will receive Student Resource Scheme (SRS) forms to complete for 2022. Students new to the program are to return both the “SRS Fee Payment Arrangement Form” and “SRS Participation Agreement Form”. Continuing students only need to return the “SRS Fee Payment Arrangement Form”, unless you wish to opt out of the Music SRS. Please read the form thoroughly to gain an understanding of the scheme and its inclusions. The SRS is a cost effective way for students to access the resources needed to be part of the program. This means that instead of sourcing and purchasing items (such as the performance uniform, music and copyright licensing, certain instruments and instruments for beginners) the school purchases these items and the students use and/or hire those items. As an example, a student would be required to source and purchase the Performance uniform (approx. $68) rather than hire it for $15. Schools are covered for certain aspects of copyright on music and can purchase 1 score (piece) for approximately $100 and make legal copies for the members of the ensemble. In a year an ensemble would perform up to 8 pieces costing approximately $800. A student in the SRS would pay $10 to cover the cost of the music however, a student not in the SRS would be required to purchase all the music at their own cost (up to $800). As you can see this is a very cost effective way for students to access the resources needed. The Department encourages parents to participate in this scheme however, participation is optional. Please be aware that if you opt out of the SRS you will be required to purchase all the resources for your child at the start of 2022. Please ensure the form is returned by Friday 11th February 2022. If no form is received by the due date, the school will take the view that the parent has chosen to opt out of the SRS.
Performance Uniforms
All performance uniforms are due back. Please ensure the entire uniform has been laundered and ironed (don’t forget to wash the tie, scrunchie and pocket). A replacement tie, scrunchie or pocket can be purchased from the uniform shop if required. It needs to be returned to the music room in the suite bag with the original coat hanger it was issued with. Please ensure it has a name on it so it can be accounted for. The uniform needs to be returned by Friday, 3 December at the latest.
School Instruments, Blue Folder And Music
All school instruments, music and blue folders are due back this week at the final lesson. These need to be handed to the instrumental teacher.
End Of Year Night Of Music And Awards
Last week at the End of Year Night of Music we celebrated the achievements of our music program for 2021. Well done to all the students who performed and entertained us and thank you to everyone who supported the evening. To comply with COVID guidelines it was necessary to make it a ticketed event with restrictions and although it was not ideal at least we were able to perform. We thank you for your patience and compliance. A special thanks must go to the P & C who ran the canteen for us. It was another challenging year with very strict rules for music rehearsals and performances. The music staff would like to thank every student and family for adapting with such a positive attitude.
Congratulations to the following students who received an award:
- Junior Singers: Benji
- Middle Singers: Ruby and Amber
- Kurwongbah Blokes: Joshua
- Senior Singers: Finlay and Leilani

ALL medication no matter what it is, is required to be prescribed by a qualified health practitioner (eg: doctor, dentist), in its original container/box and have a pharmacy label attached. Failing to adhere to these guidelines, means that we are unable to administer the medication to your student and you will be called to either collect the student or come and administer the medication yourself.
If your child has had an Action Plan (of any sort), these need to be updated every 12 months. It is preferable this occurs at the beginning of each year.
Drop Off for Medication in 2022
Medication and the necessary paperwork should be dropped off at First Aid in the New Year with new labelled medication for your child.
To avoid the congestion on the first day of school returning (Monday 24th January 2022), First Aid will be open on Wednesday 19th January 2022 (week prior to school returning), 8:30am-3:00pm. We highly recommend you take advantage of this to drop off any paperwork and medication.
If you have any questions regarding this or anything else, please call in to see us, ring First Aid on 3481 4335 or alternatively you can email us (see email address below) and we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.
